TO REPORT AN EMERGENCY CALL 9-1-1
Welcome to the
SHERWOOD FIRE DEPARTMENT
About Us
The Sherwood Fire Department provides professional fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue operations, and fire prevention services to the City of Sherwood and surrounding areas. Our department operates four fire stations, staffs 60 personnel, and serves a population of over 33,000 residents across 22 square miles.
Our History
Established in 1950, the Sherwood Fire Department began as a volunteer organization operating from a single station. In 2005, the district was strengthened by a merger involving Sylvan Hills, strengthening its role within the Pulaski County Fire Protection District No. 5.
Over the 75-year history, the department has transitioned from an all-volunteer crew to a team of professional firefighters.
Our Mission
Our mission is to protect life, property, and the environment through professional emergency response, ongoing training, and community education. We are committed to integrity, teamwork, service excellence, and accountability in everything we do.
